  1. Continue trial scene
  2. Questions for discussion:
  • what are the main points of Atticus’ closing argument?
  • what do the children learn about Dolphus Raymond?
  • compare Scout, Jem and Dill’s reactions to the trial.
  • Miss Maudie tells Jem: “things are never as bad as they seem.” what does she mean by this?
  • explain and interpret this quote from the end of chapter 23: “ Naw, Jem, I think there’s just one kind of folks. Folks.”
